Mia Niklasson

I design landscapes.

Landscape · Planting · People · Nature · Learning

I work with private clients, architects and organisations across health and education, designing landscapes from early ideas through to planting and implementation.

My work considers how people use and experience outdoor spaces, alongside the plants, wildlife and wider landscape around them.

But first, I notice.

Pasque flowers in fine grass, soft morning light
Bluebells flowering through open woodland in spring
Backlit new growth on shrubby planting at dusk

Landscape begins with paying attention — to place, material, season, people and the living world.

Spiral timber staircase seen from above against a white plastered wall
Stepped brick chimneys above a planted path in late afternoon light
Interior of a yurt looking up through the red crown wheel to blue sky
Detail of hardwood decking meeting a polished concrete edge

Ideas are part of the work.

Design begins with looking, questioning and sharing what we learn.

Landscapes are never finished.

They grow, change and pass into the care of others.
