Newmarket Racecourse — Family Enclosure

Newmarket, Suffolk

Learning + Play

Redesign of the existing playground within the Family Enclosure at Newmarket Racecourse’s July Course, creating a more inclusive and engaging play landscape as part of the wider visitor experience.

Developed closely with The Jockey Club, the design provides different levels of challenge and different ways to play together. Bespoke play structures combine climbing, sand and collaborative play with two slides at different heights and a large rope swing, allowing children of different ages and abilities to find their own way through the landscape.

The scheme was developed collaboratively through to delivery, working with the appointed contractor, specialist play manufacturer and a local tree sculptor to translate the design into bespoke elements for the site.
